Pre-Natal Yoga is about Mom and Baby

The first few days after discovering that you are pregnant are so wild, emotions roll high and then sink low, thoughts of what now, how will I ever do it all, will I be able to … It is a really joyful time but there are so many things to start doing and preparing and and and…

After the first few weeks have passed its time to deciede how you are going to keep moving through the pregnancy. Pre-Natal yoga is a great place to start because it can ease  the discomforts of pregnancy, such as moodiness, shortness of breath, and swollen ankles. Classes are a great place to find other women who are newly pregnant or have been through it before and have great advice to offer. We all need support during this special time and what better place than in a peaceful, safe and inviting enviroment of a yoga studio. Good time to say -if you enter a studio and do not feel welcome or the place seems dusty or dirty then you might want to seek out a different studio. When you walk into a studio it should be friendly, clean, inviting as well as relaxing. If you do not have this option then set up a small place in your house to practice with a well rated DVD for pre-natal yoga. Try using a candle for its scent and its meditative aspects during your practice at home. You don’t get the community feeling in your home practice but you can find blogs to read about what others are experiencing.

Pre-Natal Yoga will increase your strength, prepare your body/mind for birthing, generate courage, increase self-confidence, increase blood flow, so why wouldn’t we promote Pre-Natal Yoga?

Any perception can connect us to reality, properly and fully. What we see doesn't have to be pretty, particularly; we can appreciate anything that exists. There is some principle of magic in everything, some living quality. Something living, something real, is taking place in everything. --Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche
